Maintenance Plans for Powersolv Products

posted May 22, 2014, 11:21 PM by Powersolv Administrator   [ updated May 22, 2014, 11:22 PM ]

Software maintenance in software engineering is the modification of a software product after delivery to correct faults, to improve performance or other attributes.

A common perception of maintenance is that it merely involves fixing defects. However, one study indicated that the majority, over 80%, of the maintenance effort is used for non-corrective actions. This perception is perpetuated by users submitting problem reports that in reality are functionality enhancements to the system. More recent studies put the bug-fixing proportion closer to 21%.

Software maintenance is a very broad activity that includes error correction, enhancements of capabilities, deletion of obsolete capabilities, and optimization. Because change is inevitable, mechanisms must be developed for evaluation, controlling and making modifications.

So any work done to change the software after it is in operation is considered to be maintenance work. The purpose is to preserve the value of software over the time. The value can be enhanced by expanding the customer base, meeting additional requirements, becoming easier to use, more efficient and employing newer technology. Maintenance may span for 20 years, whereas development may be 1-2 years.

With that said, Powersolv came up with the Maintenance Plans for it's products to further improve our service to our clients. To request for a proposal and details of the Maintenance Plans we offer, kindly click the link below and we'll send you the proposal:

PowerSolv Announcement

PowerSolv is announcing the following policy changes:
1. Starting September 1, 2013, PowerSolv will no longer provide free technical support and free software updates and patches for the stand-alone version of the DSL Segregator for clients who acquired their software licenses on or before September 1, 2012.
2. For those who acquired their DSL Segregator software licenses after the cut-off date of September 1, 2012, PowerSolv will continue to serve technical support and software updates for the one year stipulated in the end-user license agreement.

These policy changes are being done in order for PowerSolv to better manage client expectations and reduce operational costs. For clients who wish to avail of the technical support and updates, PowerSolv does offer separate service agreements for technical support and software updates. To download the Maintenance Agreement kindly click this link.

Since the licensing for the DSL segregator is perpetual, clients will still be able to use their copies even without subscribing to technical support and updates.

As a gift, PowerSolv is giving every client the chance to upgrade to the latest version of the DSAS Package 1: DSL Segregator (version 3.0.2) free of charge until November 30, 2013. This is our way of thanking every client for the continued support and use of our products.

Web-Based DSL Segregator

posted Sep 8, 2013, 8:56 PM by Powersolv Administrator   [ updated Sep 12, 2013, 11:36 PM ]

Powersolv just recently released our newest product in our lineup of world-class software! Introducing the PowerSolv Web-Based DSL Segregator!

The software allows the distribution utility’s engineers — who may come from different area offices — to use the PowerSolv DSL Segregator Engine using only one software license. This means that they can perform system loss segregation and data sanity checking provided they have access to the servers of the distribution utility (for example, through the local intranet of the distribution utility, or over the Internet).
